Camp Eagle Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

At Eagle Adventure Camps, the safety and well-being of our staff and guests continue to be a top priority. In light of the recent concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are evaluating our health and safety procedures that are already in place. In addition to this, we are taking precautionary steps where needed at all three of our camps: Camp Eagle in Texas, Glorieta Camps in New Mexico, and Black Diamond Camps in Washington State.

Because this is a developing issue that is rapidly changing, we are monitoring several federal and local health agencies, like the CDC and State Health Departments, for updates, recommendations, prevention, and containment. As we learn new facts about this virus and the impacts it can have on our camps, we will strive to take the necessary precautions and make improvements to better ensure the safety of our staff and guests.

Some of the safety measures we are reiterating with staff and guests include:
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you are sneezing and coughing with a tissue or cough into your elbow.
  • Wash hands with soap and make hand sanitizer available when hand washing is not possible.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Encouraging staff and guests to stay at home when feeling sick.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

In addition to these measures, we are also looking at all of our daily operations and making necessary adjustments in order to keep our staff and guests healthy and safe. We are putting travel on hold when we can, asking staff to be prepared to work from home, and monitoring local health agencies for any new information.

As of today (3/12/2020), we are not aware of any cases of COVID-19 from guests or staff who are currently on our property or any guests who have been here recently. However, we are making sure we are prepared to reduce the risk of infection if we do end up with cases.

We are looking forward to spring and the upcoming summer camping season and are prepared for our camps to be full of campers and guests. We are praying that the Coronavirus will not hinder what God will accomplish in the hearts and minds of staff, campers, and guests at Eagle Adventure Camps.
